backtest prints +1.1% over 2 years and gets a HIGH conviction tag while buy and hold did -7.3% lol. that 44% win rate across 63 trades is doing a lot of heavy lifting
and dont forget the -37.8% max drawdown on that same backtest. trend following on LINK hasnt really paid since we were near the 30.81 top
63 trades is barely a sample size, you could flip 4 losers to winners and the whole edge disappears. still deployed tho, the 10.63 support logic holds on its own
flip 4 trades and the edge disappears is exactly why sizing beats signal on chop like this. 10.63 or nothing
44% win rate is normal for trend systems, winners just run longer. the real critique is only 63 trades in 2 years, one good trend carries the entire backtest
+1.1% over 2 years with a 44% win rate is basically coin flipping with extra steps. the ADX 41.9 trend strength is real though, if anything here ages well it is that leg
the conviction tag is for dodging the -37.8% more than the +1.1%. its a capital preservation signal wearing a returns costume
The DCA table is the only chart here worth framing. 4 buys returning +16.8% while lump sum sat at -11.2% tells you everything about entry discipline.
grabbed more under 10 during the summer, sitting fine above the 50d at 10.98. if it clears 13.64 resistance the 15 target stops looking greedy
13.64 decides everything. its rejected three runs since spring, clear it once and 15 stops being hopium
if 13.64 finally clears, the ladder above the wall fills fast. thats when you want asks already placed, not after the candle
three rejections off 13.64 since spring, but ADX at 41.9 is the strongest trend read in months. one clean weekly close above it and the 15 talk stops being hopium
+1.1% over a 2 year backtest with a -37.8% max drawdown and the verdict is still DEPLOY. the DCA table is doing all the heavy lifting here
the 6 buy DCA at +16.8% is the only honest row in that table. lump sum buyers from 13.73 a year ago are still underwater
exactly. anyone who lump summed the 13.73 break last year needed 16 months to get back to even. averaging into the 12 range is the calmer way to own this
the 13.73 lump sum crew also bought before the golden cross confirmed, signal and discipline were both against them. averaging works on LINK because it chops so hard
hard agree on the DCA row, my 6 tranches from 11.40 are green while my mate who lump summed at 13.60 is still bag holding
+1.1% over 2 years barely covers gas but the honest comparison is the -7.3% on buy and hold. trend systems on LINK mostly just dodge the drawdowns
LINK at 12.19 with support at 10.63 and first target at 14 is a solid R:R if the golden cross holds. Was waiting for a pullback entry since it broke 11.
waited for that 11 break too and missed it entirely. nibbling at 12.19 now, if 10.63 gets tested again im going full size
daily golden cross plus holding the 50d at 10.98 is enough for me to add on dips toward 10.63. the 14 target is realistic, 15 needs real volume behind it
ccip volume keeps compounding quietly while everyone argues about the chart. the low 12s with 10.63 support is where i add too, 13.64 decides the next leg
44 percent win rate on 63 trades with a +1.1 percent return is not a backtest i would deploy on. the 10.63 floor logic does all the persuading here
63 trades is the real issue yeah, but a hard 10.63 invalidation makes the tiny sample survivable. risk defined, edge is a bonus
one line about CCIP payment volume climbing and a whole page about crosses. LINK is maybe the only major with real cash flow, low 12s for that is a steal if the fees keep compounding
