Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

0 bull vs 6 bear factors and they still call it HOLD instead of just saying avoid. RSI 46 with ADX under 20 is textbook chop, no edge either way
The comparison table is the real story here. UNI down 16% while ETH did +42% over the same window. Holding through that gap is expensive patience.
@Inge Sol fair, but UNI fee switch talk has popped up every quarter since 2023 and the chart still looks like this. im not front-running that announcement again
4,500 position on a 30k portfolio while price sits below both the 50d and 200d MA? feels more like DCA bait than a deployment plan tbh
tranching 4.5k into a downtrend is just scheduled bag building. rather wait for the 200d to turn first
waiting for the 200d turn means giving up the first 30 percent of the reversal. tranching into boredom is the price of not guessing the bottom
scheduled bag building lol, stealing that. the 200d has been the only honest signal on uni for two years running
Respect for including the ATR number. 3% daily vol on a large cap is why the stop at -5% gets hit almost immediately, widen it or skip the trade
^ this guy trades. that -5% stop with 3% ATR is noise, youre just donating fees
agree on the stop width but 4.5k tranches over weeks means each entry is tiny anyway. the ATR noise mostly hits people going full size on candle one
small entries still add up to 4.5k of exposure tho. in a downtrend that just means losing slowly instead of fast
0 bull / 6 bear factors and they still call it HOLD instead of just saying sell lol. death cross plus OBV distribution is pretty clear what the trend wants
@madvligrid the RSI at 46 with ADX under 20 tho, there is no momentum either way. holding and waiting for an actual signal is fair imo
0 for 6 and still HOLD, the system clearly did not want a sell call on its record lol
the system is probably scared of getting ratioed by a bounce. but yeah, 0 bull out of 6 factors with a HOLD is just hedging with extra steps. either trim the 4.5k to 2k or admit what the bear count means
trimming to 2k in pure chop is still paying rent. ADX under 20 says the honest allocation is zero until a range actually breaks
true, but zero allocation also means missing the day a fee switch vote finally passes and UNI gaps overnight. tranching is the compromise for not guessing which one happens first
0 for 6 and HOLD reads bad but with ADX under 20 the honest label is no trade. A SELL call in pure chop gets stopped out on the first bounce
The comparison table says it all. UNI down 16% while ETH is up 42% over 3 months. Holding through that kind of underperformance needs a better reason than habit.
the ETH comparison cuts both ways, if ETH keeps running the fee switch pressure becomes political. holding UNI here is a cheap option on governance finally growing a spine
16 vs 42 in three months is brutal but UNI holder revenue votes keep getting postponed forever. the cheap option thesis holds until it doesnt
16 vs 42 is exactly why i stopped holding UNI vs ETH pairs. you can believe in the fee switch and still not pay rent waiting for it
^ dropped the pair too but kept spot UNI. at least spot keeps some optionality if the fee switch ever stops being a rumor
the UNI vs ETH pair bleed since 2023 is legendary. you can respect the fee switch thesis and still refuse to fund it
the comparison table hurts. holding UNI through a 58 point gap to ETH is a fee switch prayer, not analysis
the fee switch has been six months away since 2023 lol. holding through a 58 point gap to ETH on a maybe-vote is a choice
six months away since 2023, honestly closer to 2021. at some point the cheap option thesis needs an expiry date or its just a bag with a story attached
six bear factors and the plan still deploys 4.5k. i get the tranching logic but at some point holding through a dead chart is just loyalty pricing
zero bull and six bear factors with HOLD as the verdict. at least the tranching keeps the 4.5k from being one bad entry
RSI 46, ADX under 20, death cross, six bear factors. this is a chart begging you to do nothing and the plan says do nothing slowly in 4.5k tranches lol
16 versus 42 against eth is the entire analysis in one row. everything printed after that table is cope algebra
