Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

ADX at 49.8 is basically a freight train trend, i stopped fading readings like that years ago. the OBV distribution flag is the only thing that gives me pause here
Agreed on the trend, but MACD- while sitting within 10% of the 87.87 high usually means momentum is cooling before another leg. Tranching in is the right call
same on the OBV flag. ADX at 49.8 can stay hot for weeks but if volume keeps leaking while it grinds toward 87.87 that is your exit signal
thats the trade. ADX 49.8 says ride it, but the second OBV diverges under 85 the exit IS the edge. nobody in the writeup sized that risk
OBV leaking under 85 is the exit signal, agreed. adx 49.8 freight trains still need volume to stay on the tracks
obv leaking under 85 while adx holds 49.8 is just a trend maturing, not dying. but calling that the exit signal is the edge, fair
ADX readings that hot usually cool off before continuation. Tranching in near the 87.87 high is the only part of the plan I would actually follow
lmao the backtest log is just BUY 0.23, SELL 0.23 +0.1%, repeat. this system daytrades a 35k portfolio into dust on fees alone
the fee math kills me. 0.1 percent gross scalps on a 35k book is like 35 bucks a trade before fees, the backtest is cosplay
0.1 percent scalps minus maker and taker fees is a negative expectancy machine. the BUY call is fine, the backtest decoration is doing the heavy lifting
35 bucks gross per scalp on a 35k book before fees. that backtest log is doing all the heavy lifting for the BUY tag
35 a scalp is generous, thats 35 gross minus taker both ways on the round trip. the backtest log is carrying the whole BUY like a forklift
35 gross a scalp on a 35k book is exactly why the backtest prints 0.1 percent forever. fees turn that into a subscription paid to the exchange
0.1% scalps on a 35k book, the fee line alone makes that backtest fiction. surprised the writeup still calls it BUY with a straight face
best part is the same log gets cited as evidence. 200 trades of 0.1 percent in a zero fee universe, real money never sees that world
ran it once, 200 round trips at 0.1 percent gross is still underwater after taker fees both ways. the trend call is fine, the log is decoration
Price at 83.38 against that 87.87 high is only about a 5% drawdown, so the trend case holds up fine on paper. Just not sure I would size a full deployment plan around one exchange token
agree on sizing. one exchange token with the exchange as counterparty is two risks stacked, thats a 5 percent position max trend or no trend
exchange token with the exchange as counterparty is two stacked risks in one ticker. even 5 percent max sizing feels generous to me
ftx taught everyone the exchange token lesson and yet here is a 35k deployment plan on the exchanges own paper. 5 percent sizing is still generous
ftx comparisons get thrown around too much but the structure point stands. if the exchange wobbles, the token and the balances go together. 5 percent is the ceiling
5 percent is generous for a token where the exchange is issuer, market maker and counterparty at once. ftx priced that lesson in permanently
ftx comparison is not even dramatic, its the base case. exchange token where the venue is issuer, market maker and counterparty is one point of failure wearing three hats
83.38 vs the 87.87 high looks tight but the whole 35k plan depends on WhiteBIT having a good year. no trend line prices issuer risk on an exchange token
Thats the part no ADX reading fixes. 49.8 trend strength on the chart, total dependence on one venue staying solvent off it. A 35k plan needs a risk paragraph and I could not find one
